ABOUT THE SHOW

In this transcendently powerful new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne's voice shines through: "When I write I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!"

This is a new adaptation for a new generation.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Cameron Carpenter is a man with a mission: to smash the stereotypes surrounding organists and organ music. It used to be that if you wanted to hear the pipe organ, you had to travel to the pipe organ.  Now Carpenter, a former child prodigy who holds two degrees from Julliard, has created a pipe organ that tours the globe.  And his repertoire – from the complete works of J. S. Bach to film scores, to original compositions and hundreds of transcriptions and arrangements – is amongst the largest and most diverse of any organist. The first concert organist in history to champion the digital organ as the future of the instrument, Carpenter is a talent on the rise!

RAISIN (1).jpg

ABOUT THE SHOW

A classic of the American stage, A Raisin in the Sun follows Walter Younger and his family in Chicago, each feeling confined by their physical home space and the social roles they’ve been assigned. When an insurance payout after the death of the family’s patriarch offers an opportunity to improve their lives, individual priorities and how they affect others come into question.

Playwright Lorraine Hansberry was an African-American playwright and writer. She was the first black woman to write a play performed on Broadway. Hansberry's family had struggled against segregation, challenging a restrictive covenant and eventually provoking the Supreme Court case Hansberry v. Lee. At the age of 29, she won the New York's Drama Critic's Circle Award — making her the first black dramatist, the fifth woman, and the youngest playwright to do so. She died of cancer at the age of 34.
